Most of these games are available on Steam if that is your preferred game service.Home > Hidden Object Games > Escape Rosecliff Island > File The early Little Shop Games are also completely Hidden Object focused, but add a time management element to it:Īs with MCF, the gameplay gets more complicated in later iterations of the series. The first couple Mystery Case Files games are great:Īfter the first couple, they get more complicated. Here are a few games that are mainly Hidden Object scenes without the puzzle solving adventure parts of the game that complicate things. The more complicated mystery aspect of Hidden Object Games was a development that came a couple years after they originally became popular, so what you'll want to look for are some of the older games around the release date of the first Mystery Case Files (2005-2007). Castle and the second Murder She Wrote require action game play between the HOs, but maybe being absorbed in a story with characters she's already familiar with would help that. Maybe she would forgive the action part of this game because of the setting?Īlong those same lines, if she likes TV, there are two games I'd suggest - Murder She Wrote (actually there are two games in that series, the first of which is probably a more old style HOG) and Castle: Never Judge a Book by Its Cover. Like, there's actual photos and video clips you get to watch. But it's set at Graceland and through the story you get to relive the highlights of Elvis' career. Hidden Mysteries: Gates of Graceland - This game has some actions you have perform between the HOs. I have played them all, I remember scenes set in Shakespeare's Globe Theater, a temple in Ancient Egypt, Da Vinci's workshop, Amelia Earhart's airplane hangar, the Wright Brother's garage, Einstein's office, etc. The player has to visit historical places to "fix" what some bad person has been changing. The storyline is based on a family that can travel back through time. If your mother has traveled at all or dreamed of traveling, these may work for you.įlux Family Secrets - Again, they're kinda aimed at kids because they teach in between HO scenes. When I need to just veg out and not think about anything at all, I like to play the games set in foreign cities that I've been to (London and Tokyo). The games are laid out like a map of the city so you get a feel for the place and each HO takes place in a famous tourist spot. In between each HO scene, the game provides facts about the city. But I'm going to list the games that I have enjoyed (even those I didn't) that use the older Hidden Object style of play (not too much to do between HO scenes).īig City Adventure series - These games are really aimed at kids but they are nothing but HO scenes. I get my games from Big Fish, so I don't know if any of these is available on Steam.
